Water Coolers - Wall Mounted or Bottled Water?

“Thus, the water coolers are eminent in providing cooled water as and when required. The filtered water dispensers use running water supply while the bottled water dispensers use bottled water.”

Water plays a vital role in keeping the body healthy. Impure water is one of the most common reasons for any person to fall ill. Here comes the importance of having safe, pure and filtered water. Water coolers have become an eminent part of our lives today as it not only filters the water, but also cools it and dispenses it as and when required.

These can be found commonly in homes, offices and public places (like hospitals, airports and many more). Often people use the word dispensers for water coolers. There are two types of dispensers available which are unique in their own way:

• Wall mounted dispensers- These are the most common form of coolers that one would find. In this, the cooler uses electricity to refrigerate the incoming supply. Usually there is a container attached to it that holds the cooled water. It can be obtained simply by pressing the spring-loaded valve button, which when released the water supply is stopped. This storage facility is very helpful as it saves time.

• Bottled water dispensers – Previously the water used in these coolers came directly from the municipal water supply, but nowadays filtered water is more frequently used. The latest version has a free standing design in which bottled water is used. In this the bottle is placed upside down on the water dispenser. This device is available in varying sizes. The largest of the version may hold water up to five gallons. For office use, generally a larger dispensing machine is used. The disadvantage of this system is that it does not have a drainage facility for excess water, but just a small basin that catches minor water spills.

Some of the variants of Water Coolers have a second dispenser that is used to heat water. They can be either of the above two types. Both coolers have their own suitability criteria. Filtered water dispensers are more suitable in large organisations.
